Beer March 25th, 2009
I like beer. A lot. This may surprise you, but it's true. I like to drink beer. This season at Miller Park there is going to be a new beer for us to try at Friday's Front Row. It's from the Buffalo Water Beer Company that is located on Water Street and it's called Bison Blonde. Is this news? Not really. I am sure the beers at Friday's Front Row change frequently and I don't bother drinking most of them. However, this one has caught my eye. I think that it was made specifically for me because while I do love beer what I really love is buffalo wings and this beer was created to drink while eating buffalo wings. SERIOUSLY!
Inspired by an intersection and our love of spicy foods, particularly Buffalo wings, America’s number one “finger food,” the Buffalo Water Beer Company was formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2007. With a lack of beers on the market dedicated to complementing hot foods, a group of Brew City beer enthusiasts took on the challenge of producing a beer to fill the void.
After several months of beer taste-testing , the Buffalo Water Beer Company finally found the perfect formula for its flagship beer, Bison Blonde. With a moderate alcohol content of 4.4% ABV, Buffalo Water’s first ever beer is an ideal match for spicy foods. Whereas higher alcohol content beers generally cause bloating, especially while eating, Bison Blonde is a lighter, golden lager that you can just keep on drinking.
Seriously, I think I have been waiting my whole life for this beer. I hope they don't let me down, but if it really does go well with wings I may have found the answer to life, the universe and everything.
I am going to try this out and let you know how it goes. FINGERS CROSSED
Do you like baseball? More specifically do you like the Brewers? Do you like tailgating? (Bad question: everyone likes tailgating.) Have you ever missed two or more innings of a game in the parking lot? Do you know how to play bags? Do you consider yourself good? Have you ever made more than one trip to the port-o-potty in an hour? Would you consider living in the parking lot of Miller Park if money wasn't an option? Have you ever drunkenly said to someone "why can't they just play out here?" After a loss, have you stuck around after the game for a couple of hours anyway? Let's say you had a kid, if you were to name your child after where it was conceived would it have a name like Sausage Haus or Friday's Front Row bathroom?
If you said yes to any of these questions, this is the group for you.
The best thing for everyone involved would be for the Cubs to win a World Series so we don't have to hear about it anymore. Would the fans still be annoying? Of course, but they wouldn't be as annoying (we hope) and it'd be nice not to feel sorry for them everytime we see those "Central Divison champs" t-shirts year after year. Based on the predictions of pretty much everybody, they look to repeat this year by winning the Central and probably having the best record in the National League, again. Then, if history is any indicator they won't do anything in the playoffs. Again. We've been here before. This will happen again. It's kind of like The Matrix really.
Here's the thing though, the Cubs are fragile. Like really fragile. If a few things go wrong for them this season the Brewers (or someone else) could take this division. Nobody is talking about it, but the facts are there. There are serious red flags with this team. Read the rest of this entry »
I mean, it's not like he's good or anything but there is something positively Harvey's Wallbangers about him that makes me want him on our team.
