I'm the person who still loves Manny Parra even though he sucked...although he pitched really well in the two starts of his I was at (after his promotion from the minors and the last home stand). I agree that the expectations now are pretty much what was being said after last season, so I'm hoping it was just unfortunate that this down season came right after last year. But, yes, I too am glad it is over. Oh look – I created an account! He has to be unbiased in his coverage and to see he was just as frustrated the worst team in baseball was able to have a batter hit back-to-back grand slams against us made me feel like he slightly felt my pain. High BABIP, good peripherals and all he needed to do was cut down on the walks which he instead padded on. I'm not saying I won't fall for the same act next season, I'm just saying I am glad that it's over this season. I can't help it, I love Manny Parra and still have faith that he'll become a reliable starter. His peripherals weren't that bad with respect to LD%, GB%, IFFB%, etc. He definitely needs to improve his control and BB rate, but his FIP was 4.88, which isn't great, but with his E-F at 1.49 (plus a crazy high BABIP of .365, the highest among major league starters with at least 120 IP), improvement can be expected.
