In the modern world that we live in today there are many things that seek to ruin our way of life. Terrorism, global economic collapse, James Franco, anthrax (that's still around, right?), Drake songs, Secret Service men who pick up hookers, Nicki Minaj, gingers and George Zimmerman all threaten our livelihoods on a daily basis. We push on because that's really all that we can do, but there is something else out there that threatens us far worse than any of the things I previously listed. That great danger is cyber bullying.

For the uninitiated cyber bullying is when one person harasses another person using technological means. This could be bullying via facebook, text messaging, twitter, myspace, friendster, google plus (lol), email or a variety of other ways. People use technology to hurt other people. Now this may not seem like a big deal to you and you might think that cyber bullying is a joke, but I assure you it is all too real. I mean, have you seen that Friday Night Lights with Lyla Garrity's slam page? That was some scary stuff. She seemed genuinely upset and she isn't even that good of an actor.

Normally this type of thing only takes places among middle and high school students and we can ignore it like all the other stupid stuff kids do, but recently it has seeped into a part of my life that I simply won't stand for: people started cyber bullying John Axford.

John Axford, who is basically the greatest closer in Brewers history, is on twitter. He is entertaining, he interacts with his fans, he has good grammar and sometimes he even mentions the best Brewers blog in the world. So not only should you like John Axford for his contributions on a baseball field you should also like him because he seems like a pretty cool guy. What you should not do is a be a dick to him which is apparently what people are doing based on this recent tweet:

The timing of this tweet seems to coincide with Friday's loss in which Axford gave up the game losing run which makes it even worse. Do twitter bullies think that John Axford wanted to lose? Do they think that he tried to lose? That he did it on purpose? I don't know how big of a baseball fan you are, but I guarantee you that John Axford and the rest of the guys on that team care far more about winning and losing than you or I or anyone else ever will. Baseball isn't something that they watch for fun, baseball is their lives. Every win, every good appearance is money in their pockets. A World Series win would make them immortal and it would probably make them rich too. They know this and they want to win one so, so very bad. So being mad at John Axford for "not winning at baseball" is among the dumbest things you can ever do.

No, I'm serious. It's completely idiotic. Did you know that John Axford has converted 45 straight saves? Which is good for fifth ever? Do you remember last season when he won the Rolaids Relief Man award for best reliever in all of baseball? And finished 9th in Cy Young voting? Do you realize that John Axford holds the club record for saves in a season and he is only 29? Really, these are all things that are true.

This really upsets me. I mean, it's John Axford! Why would anyone ever be mean to him? He is so awesome. I just want to feel his mustache against my face protect him from these cyber bullies and there is a lot of ways I could go about doing that. I could backtrace them and call the cyber police and the state police on them or I could find the guys who are doing this and consequences would never be the same(!), but I know that's not the right thing to do. I am bullied every single day by Blue Jays fans in the comments of a year and a half old post and I don't like it. It hurts my feelings when they call me a hoser, eh. I don't want to be a bully to other bullies because I want to be a star. More importantly, I want you to be a star too. So let's do that.

Starting right now I want each and every Brewers fan who reads this post to send John Axford an @ message on twitter and I want you to say something nice. John Axford has brought fans of this team a lot of joy in his Brewers career and he should bring us a lot more. I want you to share that joy with him. He doesn't deserve this crap. He deserves nothing but our love and respect. So let's give it to him. Let's tell him how much we love him. Don't have a twitter? Sign up, send one message and never use it again. He's worth it. Now let's go tell him about it. I'll start.

Send John a message and use the hashtag #WeLoveAx.

Hey, do you like the Brewers and clothes that look cool? Then check out Hip Drunk: a stylish approach to Brewers apparel. Stop wearing the same stupid Brewers tshirt that every middle aged man and woman wear, it's time to get hip.

Vince Morales is the guy who runs this site. He likes the Milwaukee Brewers, pro wrestling and beer. If he offended you he is very, very sorry.
