Molitor gets the shaft in new Miller Park Parking Lot

Brew Beat has a great piece about some of the upgrades at Miller Park taking place this season. Lots of cool stuff like $1 Uecker parking, more shopping and an improved smoking area. (Even though I don't smoke I will always have a special place in my heart for the smoking area after I joined a friend out there and we saw see two girls making out. I'm pretty sure they lost that day, but I will always remember that game.) They also took the liberty of renaming the parking lots, thus ruining my perfect memorization of them, after the great Brewers legends of all time. Yount, Uecker, Cooper, Spahn, Fingers and Money are all covered here. One player, however, seems to have gotten the shaft from the team. Take a look.

You see that? Molitor gets the SHAFT. I don't know if you've ever had to park in that lot before, but whenever you pay twenty bucks to drive down a weird street, then go on a one-step-above-dirt road, go through a shady looking tunnel, park, walk underneath the interstate and then walk another mile just to get to the stadium, it sucks. Sucks hard. I don't know if Paul Molitor did something to the team or if this was just an accident, but there is no way that the words "I'm in Molitor" should be met with "That sucks, see you at the game." If you are in Molitor and I'm not, guess what? I am not coming to meet you. That's how far away that lot is. Molitor sucks and I can't tell you how bad it hurts me to say that.

(Strangely, my favorite spots are Thomas, Aaron and Kuenn. So a few good seasons as a Brewer gets you a better parking space than wearing a Brewers hat in the Hall of Fame (first ballot!) Good to know.)

Vince Morales is the guy who runs this site. He likes the Milwaukee Brewers, pro wrestling and beer. If he offended you he is very, very sorry.

Perhaps, in this case, size matters. It seems like the three broadly known names are the largest lots.

I actually don’t mind parking there because it’s much faster to get out of the lot after the game. And you can avoid the interstate mess completely by taking surface streets.

That lot is the best lot at MP.

I have to agree, the lot is not too bad of a place to park. Easy in and out and not really that much further that the back of Fingers or Money, which is preferred parking thus costing more. I think Yount got more of a shaft that Molly.

Accessing the Molitor lot is not as bad as accessing the Spahn lot! Molitor lot seems to be the best party spot anyway.

I agree with other Commenters. The walk is just as long as say, the Yount or Uecker lots, but it is far easier to get out of. Plus, you can jump right onto Bluemound from there where you will be near about 20 different on-ramps. And obviously, you get to hear that guy that is always playing the saxophone underneath the bridge on your way back to the car. But, really everyone should just park somewhere on Wisconsin Ave. and just walk. PARKING IS A RIP OFF!!! if you aren’t tailgating.

Vince, the other commenter is correct, they named the three big lots after the three biggest names…Molitor’s happens to be a ways away. As for who got a bad draw, did you see the Spahn lot? That might be Potawatami’s parking garage.

The Molitor, Yount, and Uecker lots are where I usually park for games. These consist of the average Brewer fan looking to enjoy the game for a reasonable price in general parking; its really not a far walk. I think Spahn got the shaft here. That lot is terrible: theres no tailgaters, full of miller park workers, and you walk next to a junkyard on the way in.

Agree with everybody else, by far the best parking lot to enter and leave the stadium parking. Also great for meeting people in preferred lots as it’s a far shorter walk from there then the Yount and Uecker lots. Plus you can still get great parking in that lot if you’re late and don’t have to wait in the huge lines (and delays on Miller Park Way), for the Uecker and Yount lots.
