Why am I supposed to feel sorry for JJ Hardy again?

JJ Hardy Flow ChartHey, what's up gang? I'm back, I survived the swine flu. (Well, not really but it sounds better to explain the absence.) Did I miss anything? No? Not really? No trades? No 5,000 Jeff Suppan heads on the field on Sunday? Anyways, it's good to be back. You know who else thinks it's good to be back? JJ Hardy.

That's right, he's back! Today against the Cardinals, JJ Hardy will be on the roster. The only thing is he falls one day short of some MLB rule that makes no sense so he remains under Brewers control until after 2011, instead of after 2010. Reading the baseball blogs around the internet people have been calling the Brewers unethical to do this or just plain wrong. Why? Because delaying his free agency like this costs him money. To which I say, who gives a shit? Continue reading →

“Just having three days off, that’s going to be exactly what I needed”

JJ Hardy

So there's been a lot of talking about me going down to Triple-A and everyone wondering what the future holds for me. Well I am about to tell you what it holds, three days off and a killer weekend! That's what it holds! Don't get me wrong, I love the Brewers. I love playing in Milwaukee and the fans are really great. I love all the number 7's I see in the crowd, but it's like we gotta do this thing every single day of the week? Really? 162 games? Isn't that a bit excessive?  I need some me-time. I need to enjoy the summer. I haven't even seen one episode of the new season of Entourage. I need my Drama-time! Man, I love that show. I tried to get the team to "hug it out, bitch" after wins, but they went with that untucking thing instead. Whatever. Continue reading →

Dear Journal Sentinel Anthony Witrado is a douchebag and you should probably fire him

Hey. Journal Sentinel, what's up? It's your boy, Miller Park Drunk. How's it going? Yeah, that whole death of print thing really sucks. Oh, that's funny!

Listen, let's get down to business here. I am here to talk serious business. I am here to talk about the sports section of your paper. You have this guy writing for the Brewers who is absolutely terrible. I am not kidding. He sucks. He blows. He is quite possibly the worst beat writer in the entire MLB. Did you know there are teams in Baltimore and Oakland? There is! And these teams that are located in WAR ZONES have better beat writers than Anthony Witrado. There's something wrong with this picture right? I know we've been through this before. I know that we (and everyone else that cares about the Brewers) have said this before, but this time it's serious. Anthony Witrado should be fired. Continue reading →

Guide to hangovers

hangoverYesterday we didn't write anything for the site. Why? We went to the game on Wednesday. I started to go through my archives and realized that for every Wednesday game I have gone to this season Thursday has suffered. I don't think that I need to spell it out for you why this happens. It's just the way it is. You can't start pre-gaming at 5 in the afternoon, watch a three hour baseball game and then stay out until bar time without some effects. For us it's not doing a whole lot of writing on Thursdays. I'll take it. The thing is this goes on a lot. It's not just a clever name. We've been down this road many, many times before. So why not give a little bit back? Why not share our vast knowledge? Why not create...(wait for it)..

Preparation for the MLB Draft

pejadraftWhen you watch the NBA draft: you know most of the names from following the college tournament. Unless, they are from a foreign country then you just pretend that you know whether you like or dislike the pick. (My advice is to always dislike it. Europeans are soft.) Towards the end of the first round you usually end up watching something else because the last few picks never end up mattering much. In the end you are excited to see how a guy turns out next year.

When you watch the NFL draft: you know most of the names because all ESPN does is talk about football 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year. I think the day after the Super Bowl last year they had a prediction show. You sit and watch the entire draft for 10-15 hours wondering where your life has gone. In the end you are excited to see how a guy turns out next year.

When you watch the NHL draft: lol nobody watches the NHL draft.

When you watch the MLB draft: you have pretty much no idea who anybody is and the announcers who are saying great pick or bad pick pretty much don't know either. You watch the first round until your team has picked or just leave it on in the background as you go online. In the end you are excited to see how a guy turns out in the next 2-5 years.
