Houston Astros season preview

milwaukee brewers March 29th, 2011

The season is just around the corner and the Milwaukee Brewers are currently one of the favorites in the NL Central, but that doesn't mean it's a sure thing. There are still five other teams that want the title who will be fighting for it all season. Do they have a shot? That's what we're going to find out as we work with fans from other teams to figure out how everything is going to play out and exactly what it is we're dealing with. That's right it's the 2011 NL Central Previews!

Today's Guest: A Houston Texans cheerleader

Hi y'all I'm Dixie and I'm a cheerleader for the Houston Texans. I've also done a bit of modelin' for Hawaiian Tropic and appeared in three Texas-wide commercials (you may remember me as the hot waitress at Big Billy's BBQ Fire Pit, the sassy bartender at Monster Mike's Steak City or playin' myself in an ad for Texas Mattress World ("So soft you'll strap the mattress to your back!"), but I am not here to talk about that right now. I want to talk about my other love, Houston Astros baseball. Read the rest of this entry »

5 Reason the Brewers start is possibly maybe not that bad

Baseball May 4th, 2010

Look, we're all unhappy. 10-15 is just not fun. Even if we do the whole "blame Trevor" thing the Brewers are still 13-12 and that's not a very good record either. It's better, but it's not satisfying and a lot of these losses have been supremely unsatisfying. I get tired of being Mr. Brightside all the time, but here is a few small silver linings to the start of the season.

5. The draft suddenly seems a whole lot more interesting.

We're about one month away from the MLB Amateur Draft and suddenly I care. Thanks to sucking last year we get to pick 14th! Who are we going to get? A lot of mock drafts see the Brewers going for a pitcher, but I've also heard the name Bryce Brentz. Who is Bryce Brentz? I don't know, but his name sounds cool and he might be a Brewer soon. Can't you just picture some little kid at Miller Park doing the Jr. PA announcer and saying "Now bwatting fow tha Bwewars Bwyce Bwentz!"? Yeah you can!

4. There is other stuff on.

The great thing about the Brewers slow start is that we don't have to watch it. We had the Bucks in the playoffs, the rest of the NBA playoffs, the NHL playoffs, golf, the NFL Draft, all the good TV shows are still running new episodes and everything else. If the Brewers had their worst month of the season in July like last year that would suck because there is nothing on TV in July.

3. Every good team has a bad month.

This may be the crazy person in me talking, but every good team has at least one bad month in them. Check it out. Read the rest of this entry »

Weekend Preview: The battle for the NL Central starts tonight!

Baseball April 9th, 2010

POO-HOLES GET IT?!? LOLOMGROFL

Hey, it's Friday and it's the first week of the season what better way to kick off the weekend against our hated rivals from St. Louis. Much is made about the Brewers/Cubs, but honestly I think a lot of that is Packer fans trying to recreate their animosity for the Bears. The Cubs, as a team, have never done anything bad enough for true hate. The Cardinals on the other hand have given us a really good reason to hate them, they beat us in our one and only World Series. Sure, I was like 10 months old at that time but still. Screw those guys.

I won't be going to any games this weekend so I won't get a chance to try and have sex in the bathroom. At least in Miller Park, that is. (Hey yoooo!) We're slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things here and next week should be bursting with more of the crude, semi-sexist, semi-Brewers related content that you've grown to love. Until then follow us on twitter and facebook. We'll see you Monday.
