@millerparkdrunk the 'molitor' lot is the biggest party lot of them all! $8 parking, not $20. Maybe you'll make it in by the 6th, maybe not

That lot is the best lot at MP.

I have to agree, the lot is not too bad of a place to park. Easy in and out and not really that much further that the back of Fingers or Money, which is preferred parking thus costing more. I think Yount got more of a shaft that Molly.

Al
Vince, the other commenter is correct, they named the three big lots after the three biggest names…Molitor’s happens to be a ways away. As for who got a bad draw, did you see the Spahn lot? That might be Potawatami’s parking garage.

Some Random Drunk
The Molitor, Yount, and Uecker lots are where I usually park for games. These consist of the average Brewer fan looking to enjoy the game for a reasonable price in general parking; its really not a far walk. I think Spahn got the shaft here. That lot is terrible: theres no tailgaters, full of miller park workers, and you walk next to a junkyard on the way in.

Okay, I get it. I do. People like that lot. Sorry for bashing it.

In my defense I come from the south and normally park in the Uecker or Yount lots. When I get to a preferred game late they will push you forward towards the Spahn and Molitor lots. In order to get to the Molitor lot from that side you have to drive on some crazy back road (which I assume is where the Spahn lot is located, next to the meth lab) and then under a creepy bridge. I had to pay a troll toll to get inside Molitor's hole. Once there? The party was great, but I wanted to get to the game and I had to walk quite awhile to get there. (Through a parking lot! Under an interstate! Through a traffic light! Through all of preferred!) That's all. Sorry for dissing your favorite lot weirdos.

Molitor gets the shaft in new Miller Park Parking Lot

Brew Beat has a great piece about some of the upgrades at Miller Park taking place this season. Lots of cool stuff like $1 Uecker parking, more shopping and an improved smoking area. (Even though I don't smoke I will always have a special place in my heart for the smoking area after I joined a friend out there and we saw see two girls making out. I'm pretty sure they lost that day, but I will always remember that game.) They also took the liberty of renaming the parking lots, thus ruining my perfect memorization of them, after the great Brewers legends of all time. Yount, Uecker, Cooper, Spahn, Fingers and Money are all covered here. One player, however, seems to have gotten the shaft from the team. Take a look. Continue reading →

The final weekend

So, this is it. Our last chance to go to Miller Park. It seems like only yesterday I was doing a countdown to Opening Day, telling you what not to wear and how to drink. Now? It's all over. If you haven't been to a game in awhile and want to get one last one in, stubhub has some truly crazy deals on tickets right now (Terrace for $.50, Field Infield Box for $15, Loge Infield for $10, Loge Diamond Box for $10, tons of deals). They might win, they might not. Doesn't really matter. Miller Park is a great place just to hang out. If you don't have faith in the team on the field just stay in the parking lot for the first four innings. I can't say I've never done it and I know you'll have a good time because it's ALWAYS a good time. Personally, I am happy with my last game of the season being Wednesday's game (and not just because I'm still hungover.) I got to see Prince go yard, a starting pitcher actually do a good job and Trevor Time. I can't think of a better way to remember this season than that (outside of flipping The Happy Youngster over the railing into the bullpen).

Speaking of my last game, something really weird happened at it: I met some readers and they were happy about it. "It's a pleasure to meet you" they said. My only reply? "Really? Seriously? You're kidding right?" I'm glad that people read this blog and I'm more glad that the people who read it really like it, but let's face the facts. I'm just another douchebag who spills his beer on a pregnant chick. Nothing to get excited about.

Anyways, enjoy the weekend gang. I'll be back Monday with more stuff, just like I'll be back every week all winter long. Just because the Brewers will be gone doesn't mean I suddenly have important stuff to do. Quite the opposite.

Miller Park Drunk Silver Lining: Casey McGehee

The Brewers haven't been playing that good lately and it's hard to get excited about the team. Maybe the games on TV don't feel as "can't miss" as they used to, maybe you aren't in as big of a rush to leave the parking lot as you normally are or maybe you don't update your popular blog as much as you normally do. Try and remember, there are good things going on with this team even if they aren't winning.

We got Casey McGehee from the Cubs, for nothing. Nothing. He is currently hitting .344 with a .925 OPS. That's good. Do you think the Cubs miss him? Do we like having him? That's an excellent silver lining right there. Casey McGehee being a Brewer helps us and hurts the Cubs, that's awesome. Know what else is awesome? These FUN FACTS about Casey McGehee.

  • Casey McGehee went to Fresno State. Other famous Fresno State alums include Pauly Shore, former Rams coach Mike Martz and Skip-2-my-lou Rafer Alston.
    pauly
  • Casey's birthday is October 12th. Other notable people born on October 12th: Hugh Jackman and Kirk Cameron.kirk-cameron
  • Casey isn't that bad at defense either.
  • Despite being older than him, Craig Counsell is his son.
  • Casey is not exactly what you might call "buff" or "in shape", which always makes you like a player a bit more. There's just something about a player that would easily beat you in a wing eating contest.
    casey
  • He's not Bill Hall. Bill Hall is currently hitting below .200. Yikes.
  • He's cheap: Casey is still under team control and won't take up much payroll for the next few years.
  • Casey McGehee can sneeze with his eyes open.

I like the guy!

Opening Day: The Movie

Traffic almost ruined my Opening Day. I got up early and left myself plenty of time to get to the park. I guess I underestimated everyone else though because at about 11 o'clock I hit a traffic jam unlike any other. Just 3 miles from Miller Park we were left with little to no hope of making it inside the parking lot. So we improvised and hit a warehouse. My friends even got to ride rickshaws to the game. I hate them. So the Opening Day I envisioned and the following video aren't real close. It is what it is, I was still there and I still had a great time with a great win. #23 never looked so good.
